Willoughby Grange celebrates National Care Homes Open Week

On Saturday 26th June 2021 we kickstarted our week of celebrations for National Care Home’s Open Week with a Summer Open Event for our residents and their families.

It was with great emotion that we were able to finally come together with our resident’s families and friends and enjoy a joyful celebration in our garden. Even with the current COVID restrictions we were all able to meet face to face, and for some of the newer staff it was the first time that they were able to meet the resident’s families.

The families and friends are an important part of the Willoughby Grange experience and this was evident with the warmth that was expressed between all the staff, the residents and their families.

Seeing our residents show their enjoyment at the event proved the importance of the need for us to continue with these events……. so keep your eye’s peeled for further planned events on here and also on our facebook pages.

Here is a photograph from the event. Due to the need to protect our residents from the danger’s that social media can pose, we have posted our photographs of the event on our closed facebook page that all our families and friends can request permission to join. There are a few more of our staff at the event on our business page which is open for all to see.

A huge thank you to our singer Steve Carmel. Such a great entertainer and involved the resident’s throughout. Well done Steve, you were amazing.

We are thrilled to announce that we are planning an open day for all our residents, staff and family and friends of residents.

It will be a huge celebration offering great entertainment and food… and maybe a drink or two!

Not only will it be a huge event after a very difficult 15 months of the impact of Covid on all our staff, residents and their family and friends, but it will also be a great way to kickstart the week ahead as we showcase just what a fantastic care home Willoughby Grange is. The 28th June – 4th July 2021 is Care Home Open Week, a national event where we offer the opportunity of first hand experiences of what life is like in a care home. Whether that is living or looking to place a loved one in a care home, or a career in this employment sector.

Keep looking on our facebook page (link below) for upcoming details on how you can obtain a ticket. All of our family and residents on our closed facebook page will be able to get details from there too.

Hope to see you there!
